About Japanese Industrial Standards
Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) specifies the standards used for industrial activities in Japan. The standardization process is coordinated by the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee and published through the Japanese Standards Association.
This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies high boots worn mainly for waterproof and dustproof purposes, which are manufactured using rubber or soft polyvinyl chloride by pasting, pressure bonding or injection forming the trunk, upper covering and main sole. It does not apply to safety shoes, waders or the like.

Impact Resistance
Specified impact force is applied on a toecap to see the clearance under the toecap to protect the toe area.
Compression Resistance
Specified compression load is applied on a toecap to see the clearance under the toecap to protect the toe area.
This standard specifies footwear that has electrostatic diffusion property (referred as electrostatic shoes) as well as electrostatic conductive property (referred as conductive shoes) to prevent disasters and failure occurred by electrical charge to a worker or footwear. (Footwear referred both together as electrostatic shoes etc.)
